When the technology relates to an Information System, this area relates to:

  • Human Computer Interface ... how to present data, change data, visualise the area supported by the technology
  • Productivity ... how to make the work easier and reduce errors

When technology relates to machinery, this area relates to:

  • Substitution of labor for machine interaction and how the user interface changes with a machine to carry out the work.
  • Robotics and user controls.
  • Detection of change that need attention of the operator.

Other factors related to technology include: space, lighting, temperature, etc for the environment.

Workspace technology is also a consideration when carrying out specific activities.
